The ASSTSAS is a joint sector-based association dedicated exclusively to occupational health and safety prevention
in the health and social services sector.
Its mission is to :
“ promote, develop and implement preventive actions to identify and eliminate at their source, hazards to the health, safety and physical and psychological integrity of personnel in the health and social service sector, while striving for productivity.”
Our industry is highly complex, and covers a very wide range of occupational health and safety problems.
Frequent back injuries, many serious, incurred by moving patients.
Attacks by patients in the emergency room, in extended care facilities, and elsewhere.
Risk of infection, particularly infections transmitted by blood (hepatitis, AIDS) as a result of accidental needlesticks.
Handling of chemicals and antineoplastic drugs in laboratories, pharmacies and by housekeeping departments.
Organization and reorganization of work stations or even complete departments.
Dealing with stress, exhaustion, psychological distress : situations which are on the rise.
Our team of expert occupational health and safety consultants provide information, training,
consulting, technical assistance, research and development in numerous fields including ergonomics, assault prevention, psychological counselling, etc.
